Got it all sanded and the cedar lining in place, added hinges, and finally 6 coats of clear lacquer. It closes smooth and makes a nice air tight seal.
Yes, there are gaps in the cedar lining, it is to allow for swelling when this bad boy gets up to around 70% humidity inside.
Went with some decorative hinges that had to be modified a little bit. I really didn’t feel like driving 40 miles for the set I wanted, so these will do.
